GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 252

NOTICE is given to the general public that the Athi Water Services Board (AWSB) which provides water services by authority of a license issued by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) to the City of Nairobi through Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited have applied to the Regulator for a water tariff adjustment. (a) The tariff adjustment is for the period 2014/15 to 2017/18. (b) AWSB proposes an increasing block tariff (IBT) structure with a built in component of a life line tariff of KSh. 204 per month for water consumption of up to 6000 litres per month for piped connections and regulated resale by manned water kiosks vendors at KSh. 1 per 20 litre container. (c) The tariff adjustment is to enable the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited attain full cost recovery, servicing of infrastructural development loan, undertake minor investments in water and sewerage services and generally improve service delivery. The public is invited to visit our website to view details of the proposed water tariff adjustments within the next thirty (30) days and submit comments.
