THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS ACT

NOTICE is given that the above petitioner did on 12th June, 1998, lodge at the office of the Registrar of the High Court of Kenya at Mombasa, an application for leave to withdraw the petition, of which application the following copy presented on the 27th January, 1998. (a) That the petitioner has been employed as the Country .Director of Oxfam (U.K.) to the Republic of Somaliland (North Somalia). (b) That an express clause of his contract of employment forbids him to engage in politics. (c) That because he is based in Hargeysa, Somaliland he cannot prosecute the petition. : Take notice that under the National Assembly Elections (Election Petition) Rules, any person who might have been petitioner in respect of the said election may within seven (7) days after the date of application of this notice, give notice in writing to the Registrar of the High Court of his intention on hearing of the application to be submitted as petitioner.
