NOTICE is given that an application under section 17 (1) of the Mining Act, has been made by Messrs. Anglo-American Pros- pecting Services (PTY) Limited, of P.O. Box 66337, Nairobi, Kenya, for a special licence to prospect for gold and base metals over the area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of the above section of the Mining Act, the said area of land is therefore re-opened for prospecting and mining. Any objection to the grant of the special licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009, Nairobi, Kenya, so as to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 530 square kilometres situated in Kericho and Nyamira districts of Rift Valley and Nyanza provinces, respectively, and delineated on Topo Sheet, Kisumu SA~36-4 of 1:250,000 scale and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point “A” grid reference YQ 2751; thence on a grid bearing of 70° for a distance of approximately 15 kilometres to point “B” grid reference YQ 4055; thence on a grid bearing of 180° for a distance of approximately 50 kilometres to point “C” grid reference YQ 4005; thence on a grid bearing of 270° for a distance of approximately 15 kilometres to point “D” grid.reference YQ 2505; thence along the Kericho/Nyamira District of boundary for a distance of approximately 52 kilometres to the point of commencement.
