IT IS notified for general information, the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage has appointed the Organising Committec and Steering Committee for the Summer 202! Deaflympics in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. 1. The mandate of the Steering Committee shall be to— (a) oversee the preparation ot the Summer 2022 Deaflympics in Brazil; (b) review work plans, budgets and any other relevant proposals made by the Organising Committee; (c) approve the final list of athletes and officials that are to participate in the Summer 2022 Deaflympics in Brazil; and (d) provide overall oversight on the activities of the athletes and officials that are to participate in the Summer 2022 Deaflympics held in Brazil. 2. The mandate of the Organising Committee shall be to— (a) conduct trials to verify the qualification of the athletes that are to participate in the Summer 2022 Deaflympics in Brazil; (b) (c) (d) (e) 7) consult with the respective federations of athletes to select the teams of the athletes that are to participate in the Summer 2022 Deaflympics in Brazil; prepare work plans, budgets and any other proposals for consideration by the Steering Committee; co-ordinate with the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf on the activities of the athletes and officials that are to participate in the Summer 2022 Deaflympics held in Brazil; prepare a final report on the fulfilment of the mandate of the Committee; and perform any other duty that may assigned to it by the Steering Committee. 3. The tenure of the Steering Committee and the Organising Committee shall be from the 25th of January, 2022 to the 15th of July, 2022. 6. The activities of the Steering Committee and the Organising Committee shall be funded through the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage. 7. Upon the completion of Summer 2022 Deaflympics held in Brazil, the Organising Committee shall— (a) compile a report of the event and audited accounts to be submitted to the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage within three months after the completion and; (b) surrender all assets, including any credit balance in the bank account and moveable assets to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Sports.
