PURSUANT to section. & of the Statutory Instruments Act, 2013, the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) -notifies the general public that a Regulatery Impact Statement on the proposed. Sacco Societies. (Specified. Non-Deposit Taking Business) (Levy) ‘Order, 2022 has been.prepared to assess the impact of the Order on the Non-Withdrawable Deposit Taking SACCOs (Non-WDT-SACCOs) and their members. The objective of the Sacco Societies (Specified. Non-Deposit Taking Business) (Levy) Order, 2022 is to prescribe the levy payable ‘by the SACCO Societies undertaking the specified non-deposit.taking business, including the basis, rate and time of payment of the levy in accordance with section 15 of the Saceo Societies Act, 2008. In this. regard, the Authority has developed and_ published on its website www:sasra.go-ke, fer public participation and comments the following documents— 4. The Regulatory Impact Statement; and. 2. A Draft Sacco Societies (Specified. Non-Deposit Taking Business) (Levy) Order, 2022. The-Regulatory Impact Statement and draft Order may be obtained from www.sasra.go.ke, upon request in writing to the Chief Executive ‘Officer of the Authority or through-email to policy @sasra-go.ke. Notice is therefore given to Non-WDT-Saccos, members. of the Sacco Societies, stakeholders within the-Co-operative Sector, members of the public, the academia and/or any other interested person: to provide comments, views, and opinions. Such-comments, views, and opinions may be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Sacco Societies Regulatery Authority, P.O Box 25089, 00100 Nairobi, hand delivered to UAP Old Mutual Tower 19th Floor or emailed to policy@sasta.go.ke; to.be received on or before 25th February, 2022 at 5.00 pm, It is further notified, that the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority shall conduct public participation on the Regutatory Impact Statement and draft Order in the counties.as shall be notified in the newspapers.
