GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 6490

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 38 (1) of the Physical and Land Use Planning Act, 2019 and section 110 of the County Governments Act, 2012, nNotice is given that the County Government of Taita Taveta intends to commence preparation of the above plan on Friday, 19th May, 2023. The County Physical and Land Use Development Plan will be GIS-based, ten-year plan (2023–2033) covering the entire Taita Taveta County measuring approximately 17,084 km². The purpose of the plan is to provide an overall spatial framework for the county to guide sustainable development. It seeks to provide a land use plan for the county, develop a GIS based land information system to guide land administration and management; facilitate the development of a well-balanced system of settlements and ensure productive and optimal use of land as well as guide rural development and settlement; Develop strategies and policies to improve the social, economic and environment systems of the county, formulate strategies for improving transport, communication networks and linkages among others. Preparation of the plan will be participatory and any interested persons, stakeholders or organizations who wish to make comments or Suggestions in relation to the preparation of the plan may send such representations in writing within a period of Twenty-one (21) days of this notice to the: County Executive Member for Lands, Physical Planning Mining and Energy, P.O.
