PURSUANT TO SECTION 11 OF THE ENERGY ACT, 2019 NOTICE is given that pursuant to section 11 of the Energy Act, 2019, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has set out the following amendments to the Schedule of Tariffs, 2023, prescribing the tariff, charges, prices and rates to be charged by Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited to the consumers for electrical energy they consume PART I General 1. The amendments to the Schedule of Tariffs - 2023, shall take effect on 1st April 2023 – 30th June, 2026 and shall apply to; (a) Each Post-paid Consumer for all bills raised based on meter readings taken on or after the Effective Date. (b) Each Pre-paid Consumer, for all units purchased on or after the Effective Date. 2. In this document, unless the context otherwise requires, the following words and expressions shall have the following meanings: “Consumer”: means any person supplied or entitled to be supplied with electrical energy or petroleum. METHOD CI6: Applicable to Commercial and Industrial Consumers for supply provided and metered by the Company at 220,000 volts per Post-paid Billing period. (a) Energy charge of KSh. 10.00 per unit for units consumed. (b) Energy charge of KSh. 7.42 per unit for supply metered during off-peak hours. (c) Demand charge of KSh. 200.00 per kVA. (d) Bulk Tariff Energy charge of KSh. 10.00 per unit for units consumed. METHOD CI7: Applicable to Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Consumers for supply provided and metered by the Company at 220,000 volts per Post-paid Billing period. Where the 220kV line is not available, considerations shall be made for customer metered at 132,000 volts (a) Energy charge of KSh. 10.00 per unit for units consumed. (b) Energy charge of KSh. 7.42 per unit for supply metered during off-peak hours. (c) Demand charge of KSh. 200.00 per kVA. (d) Bulk Tariff Energy charge of KSh. 10.00 per unit for units consumed.
