PURSUANT to regulation 21 of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the above proposed project. The proponent, Kithaayoni Self Help Group through the County Government of Machakos, through the Kenya Climate Smart Agricultural Project (KCSAP), has proposed the development of Kithaayoni Concrete Dam for domestic /livestock and micro irrigation. The projects will benefit 800 people and 2000 livestock located in Makaveti Village, Kyanzasu Sub-location of Kimutwa Location in Machakos County.
