SETTLEMENT

IT IS notified for general information to section 39 of the Competition Act, 2010 ("the Act"), that in exercise of the powers conferred by section 38 of the Act, the Competition Authority of Kenya ("the Authority") has entered into a settlement agreement with Harambee Sacco Society Limited after the Sacco was found to have contravened sections 55 (b) (i) and 56 (4) of the Act. Under the settlement agreement — (a) the Authority has imposed a financial penalty to the tune of thirty eight thousand, three hundred and seventy nine and eighty five cents KSh. 38,379.851= on the Sacco; and (b) the Sacco gave a written undertaking vide the settlement agreement to in future refrain from engaging in any conduct that is in contravention of the Act.
