FOR the purposes of giving effect to section 30 (3) (g) of the County Governments Act, which requires the Governor to promote and facilitate citizen participation in the development of policies and plans, and delivery of services in the County, it is notified for the general information of the public That I have appointed a board to be known as the `Meru County Agriculture Board (MCAB)' to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in the County, and increase households' incomes. The Board shall comprise the following members: Joseph Gikunda Iracha — Chairperson Gladys Maine Martin Kinoti Francis Vincent Mutwiri Jane Kaimuri Mervyn Kimathi Muriungi Titus Kinoti Muraga Makena Mwithimbu Jeremiah Kobia Kinyua Mbijiwe Julius Mutethia Functions of the Board The functions of the Board shall be to— • (a) advise the County Government ,on best practices to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability; (b) advise and support the County Government on efficient delivery of priority projects in agriculture; (c) provide co-ordinated advice to County Government on strategic policies in the agricultuM1 sector aimed at promoting economic growth and employment creation thereby reducing poverty, and inequality especially in the rural areas; (d) create linkages and encourage private sector investments in the agricultural sector; (e) assess County Government policies on agriculture, for their effectiveness in achieving economic and social transformation, and advise accordingly; w promote NGO, Donor and International Co-operation in agriculture; and undertake, any other task incidental thereto, as may be assigned by the Governor.
