ESTABLISHMENT
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 16 (7) of the
Public Finance Management (National Government Affirmative Action
Fund) Regulations, 2016, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs appoints the persons whose names appear in the second column of the First Schedule to be members of the Meru
County Affirmative Action Fund Committee for the constituencies set out in the third column in accordance with the provisions of the regulations set out in the first column and revokes* the appointments of the persons whose names appear in the Second Schedule.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE TASKFORCE ON THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE POLICY AND REGULATORY
FRAMEWORK FOR PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION IN
KENYA
IT IS notified for the information of the general public that the
Cabinet Secretary for Information Communication and Technology has for the purpose of developing a Policy and Regulatory Framework for
Privacy and Data Protection in Kenya, established a Taskforce to be known as the Taskforce on the Development of the Policy and
Regulatory Framework for Privacy and Data Protection in Kenya.
The Taskforce shall comprise of the following-

3. The terms and reference of the Taskforce are to- to undertake a comprehensive audit of the existing legislation, regulation, policies, administrative procedures, sessional papers, Government guidelines and circulars relating to privacy and data protection frameworks in Kenya;
to identify any gaps or inconsistencies in the existing frameworks and proposes specific review requirements;
to propose any new policy, legal and institutional framework that may be required to implement the policy and regulatory framework for privacy and protection particularly taking the following into account:
The existence of any international treaty or convention ratified by Kenya relating LO an" matter concerning privacy and data protection;
The application of the Bill of Rights to the policy, legal and institutional framework governing privacy and data protection, particularly Article 31 of the Constitution;
The values and the principles applicable to the policy, legal and institutional frameworks governing privacy and data protection under the Constitution;
(iv). Any other principles and values necessary for the policy, legislative and institutional framework governing privacy and data protection in Kenya as consistence with the Constitution.
to draft policy and legislative proposals and present such recommendations for stakeholder consultation through a transparent process with the object of developing the draft policy and legislation for privacy and data protection; and to perform any other task related to the foregoing.
The Taskforce shall have the power to hold meetings, public forums and consultation on the development of the Policy and
Regulatory Framework for Privacy and Data Protection in Kenya.
The Taskforce Shall complete its work and present its report to the Cabinet Secretary within a period of three (3) months from 15th
March 2018, and the Cabinet Secretary for Information
Communication and Technology may when necessary extend the period.
