the general public that the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has established an Inter-Ministerial Taskforce on Food Subsidy Programme to provide a framework for co-ordinating the ongoing Government Food Subsidy Programme in the Country consisting of the following: Richard Lesiyampe (Dr.)—(Chairperson) Members: Johnson Irungu (Dr.) Wanyambura Mwambia Arthur Osiya Ruth Wachira Cornel K. Ngelechey Julius Kiptarus Augustine Cheruiyot (Dr.) William Karari Jasper Mbiuki Kepha Ombacho (Dr.) Joseph Ngetich Attorney-General or his representative The Terms of Reference of the Taskforce are to— co-ordinate and provide strategic leadership in implementation of the Programme; analyze and give up-to-date status of maize grain and such other essential commodities (maize, sugar and powdered milk) as the case may be in the Country to determine supply and demand; ensure implementation of the Programme is in line with Government policy objectives; identify possible sources of the duty exempted essential commodities and their competitive import prices; monitoring maize and maize products and other essential commodity prices in the market as the case may be and advise accordingly; (/) monitor and evaluate the progress and implementation of the Programme; prepare progress reports on implementation of the Programme; and perform any other function necessary to ensure effective co- ordination and implementation of the Programme realization of its objectives. Reporting In the performance of its functions, the Taskforce shall be responsible to the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. Meeting In the discharge of its mandate, the Taskforce shall hold such number of meetings in such places and at such times as the Taskforce may consider necessary for the proper discharge of its functions and shall regulate its own procedures. Secretariat and Inter-Ministerial Technical Committee The Taskforce shall have a Co-ordination Secretariat based at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, State Department of Agriculture and an Inter-Ministerial Technical Committee for the effective performance of its functions. Terms of Office The Taskforce shall remain in office for a period of four (4) months from 2nd May, 2017 or for such a longer period as the Cabinet Secretary may by notice in the Gazette prescribe. Co-option The Taskforce may co-opt any other member(s) whose skills and experience are necessary for the performance of its functions. Dated the 2nd May, 2017.
