APPOINTMENT


PURSUANT to section 53 (9) of the Advocates Act and Rule 12(1) of the Advocates (Complaints Commission) Rules, 1991 it is notified for general information that from 1st October 2015 to 31st December, 2015, the Commission received a total of two hundred and twenty six (226) new complaints out of which twenty three (23) were classified and files opened. Two hundred and three (203) were submitted for further enquiry under Preliminary Enquiry Initiative. Nil Closed: no misconduct disclosed 2 Dismissed Nil Withdrawn Rejected Nil Others (Advocate deceased) 3 TOTAL 6 Preliminary Enquiry (PE) complaints Total number of complaints subjected to Preliminary Enquiry (PE) was two hundred and three (203). • Total number of complaints settled under the Preliminary Enquiry (PE) was nil (0). 4. The matters referred to the Disciplinary Tribunal (DT) during the same period for further action and in accordance with Section 57(1) of the Advocates Act were zero (0). -5. During the same period a further seventeen (17) cases were disposed of as follows: No. of Complaints Advocates struck off the Roll of Advocates Advocates suspended Nil Advocates acquitted . Nil Settled (matters resolved) 14 Withdrawn Nil Dismissed 2 Admonished Nil Others Nil TOTAL . 17 Pursuant to section 5 3(4) and in the spirit of Section 53(5) of the Advocates Act, twenty two (22) complaints were settled amicably at the Advocates' Complaints Commission. Maseki, Senior Co-operative Auditor, Headquarters, to be liquidator of Posta Investment Co-operative Society Limited (CS/8494) (in liquidation), for a period not exceeding one year, and whereas the said Raphael K. Maseki, Senior Co- operative Auditor, Headquarters, has not been able to complete the liquidation. Now therefore, I extend the period of the liquidation with effect from 19th February, 2016, for another period not exceeding one (1) year for the said Raphael K.
