REGULATION

PURSUANT to section 20 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011 and clause 5 of the Lunga Lunga Municipal Charter, the County Executive Committee approves and delegates the following functions to be undertaken by the Lunga Lunga Municipality, with effect from the 22nd November, 2023: (a) Promotion, regulation and provision of refuse collection and solid waste management services; (b) Construction and maintenance of urban roads and associated infrastructure; (c) Construction and maintenance of storm drainage and flood controls; 22nd November, 2024 THE KENYA GAZETTE (d) Construction and maintenance of walkways and other non- motorized transport infrastructure; (e) Construction and maintenance of recreational parks and green spaces; (f) Construction and maintenance of street lighting; (g) Construction maintenance and regulation of traffic controls and parking facilities; (h) Construction and maintenance of bus stations and taxi stands; (i) Promotion, regulation and provision of animal control and welfare; (j) Any other function as may be delegated by the County Executive Committee.
