THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMEN T AND CO-ORDINATION ACT
(No. 8 of 1999)
REGULATION
PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact
Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environmental
Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental
Impact Assessment Study Report for the implementation of the proposed TET Tea Factory.
The project comprises construction of a single line CTC factory with a provision for future expansion, administration block, parking area, installation of underground fuel tanks, overhead water tanks and other associated civil works (waste and storm water, and water reticulation drainages).
The proposed TET Tea factory is located at Kimulot location, Kimulot Division of Konoin West District. It neighbours George
Williamson Tea Co, the defunct Koruma Estate which is under the jurisdiction and management of Unilever Tea Ltd at the North, and at the south is Kimulot trading centre. The project site is accessible through a murram road 12 km connecting the highway (Konoin -Sotik road).
The following are the anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation measures:

The National Environment Management Authority invites members of the public to submit oral or written comments within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice to the
Director-General, NEMA, to assist the Authority in the approval process of the project.
