GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 11818

IT IS notified for general information of the public that the Minister for Energy, for the purposes of realizing Kenya‘s Vision 2030 and to fast track development of coal resources in order to enhance the production of affordable, reliable, commercial and industrial process energy and electricity establishes a Committee to be known as the Mui Basin Coal Project Blocks C and D Liaison Committee. 1. The Mui Basin Coal Project Blocks C and D Liaison Committee (hereinafter referred to as Committee) shall consist of the following— Eric Kyalo Mutua, Titus Kivaa Peter Mbiti, Paul Mumo Kisau, Gideon Wathe Nzau, Florence Mutawali Kitonga, Patricia Kisio Kimanzi, Joseph Muthui Nzuni, Margaret Munyoki, Solomon Kimanzi Kivoto, Eunice Kelly Wambua, David Kilonzi Maweu, John Kimakio Mutia, Nzomo Mulatya, who shall serve for a term of three years with effect from the 3rd March, 2012. 2. The terms of reference of the Committee are to— (a) undertake advocacy, education and analysis of matters pertaining to coal activities; (b) engage with relevant Government Ministries/ Agencies and other stakeholders; (c) identify and recommend to Government preferred measures/ solutions; (d) ensure close bond/ connection / integration/ interrelationship with various stakeholders; (e) mainstream coal project matters into community initiatives; (f) make proposals on activities required to be funded as part of and oversee Corporate Social Responsibility Projects; and (g) undertake any other coal related activity as may be directed by the Minister for Energy.
