GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 13908

NOTICE is given that an application under section 18 (2) of the Mining Act has been made by Isaac Rhein Mruttu, of P.O. Box 12986–00400, Nairobi, Kenya for an exclusive prospecting licence to prospect for industrial minerals over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of the above mentioned section of the Mining Act, the said area of land is therefore re-opened to prospecting and mining and by virtue of section 7 (1) (d) of the same Act, the said area of land is excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the special licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009–00100,, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 20 km situated in Taita Taveta County of Coast Province, delineated on Voi topo sheet No. SA-37-14 of scale 1:250,000 and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point ―A‖ grid reference 0364757 9608144; thence on a grid bearing of 72 for a distance of approximately 1.6 km to point ―B‖ grid reference 0366150 9608850; thence on a grid bearing of 332 for a distance of approximately 1.81 Km to point ―C‖ grid reference 0365124 9610355; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 1.4 km to point ―D‖ grid reference 0366465 9610360; thence on a grid bearing of 270 for a distance of approximately 1.15 km to point ―E‖ grid reference 0366485 9609197; thence on a grid bearing of 102 for a distance of approximately 1.56 km to point ―F‖ grid reference 0367970 9608916; thence on a grid bearing of 172 for a distance of approximately 6.5 km to point ―G‖ grid reference 0368215 9602407; thence on a grid bearing of 264 for a distance of approximately 2.56 km to point ―H‖ grid reference 0365710 9602350; thence on a grid bearing of 348 for a distance of approximately 5.88 km to the point of commencement.
