IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by Section 2 (1) (a), 3(2) of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of Kenya, Section 112 (2) of the Elections Act, 2011, Section 41A of the former Constitution of Kenya, Section 14(2) of the National Assembly and Presidential Elections Act (Cap. 7) and Regulation 41(2) (b) of the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections Regulations, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission certifies that Ole Sakuda Moses Somoine, Neto Oyugi Aghostinho and Tiras Nyingi Ngahu have been declared the winners of the Kajiado North, Ndhiwa and Kangema parliamentary seats respectively following the by-elections held on 17th September, 2012. The Results of the By-elections are as follows: KAJIADO NORTH (a) Valid votes cast for Ole Sakuda Moses Somoine were (in figures) 26,387 (in words) twenty six thousand three hundred and eighty-seven. (b) Total votes cast against the voters register were (in figures) 47,043 (in words) forty seven thousand and forty three. (i) Rejected Votes (in figures) 423 (in words) four hundred and twenty three; (ii) Total valid votes (in figures) 46,620 (in words) forty six thousand six hundred and twenty. (c) Votes cast as per each candidate are as indicated in the schedule respectively. NDHIWA (a) Valid votes cast for Neto Oyugi Aghostinho were (in figures) 21,639(in words) twenty one thousand six hundred and thirty-nine. (b) Total votes cast against the voters register were (in figures) 24,154 (in words) twenty four thousand one hundred and fifty-four. (i) Rejected Votes (in figures) 184 (In words) one hundred and eighty-four. (ii) Total valid votes (in figures) 23,970 (in words) twenty three thousand nine hundred and seventy. (c) Votes cast as per each candidate are as indicated in the schedule respectively. KANGEMA (a) Valid votes cast for Tiras Nyingi Ngahu were (in figures) 13,752(in words) thirteen thousand seven hundred and fifty two. (b) Total votes cast against the voters register were (in figures) 21,343 (in words) twenty-one thousand three hundred and forty three. (i) Rejected Votes (in figures) 134 (in words) one hundred and thirty four.
