GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 918

NOTICE is given that application under section 18 (2) of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Laholmes Machinery, of P.O. Box 70344–00400, Nairobi, Kenya, for an exclusive prospecting licence to prospect for industrial minerals over an area described in the schedule hereto has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of section 7 (1) (d) of the Mining Act the said area of land is therefore excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area in question or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the exclusive prospecting licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009–00100, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. An area of approximately 1470 km situated in Kitui District of Eastern Province, delineated on Kitui topo sheet Ref No. SA-37-6 of scale 1: 250,000 and more particularly described as follows:- Commencing at point ―A‖ grid reference DJ 6532; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 35 km to point ―B‖ grid reference DJ 5032; thence on a grid bearing of 180° for a distance of approximately 42 km. to point ―C‖ grid reference DJ 5074; thence on a grid bearing of 270° for a distance of approximately 35 km. to point ―D‖ grid reference DJ 5074; thence on a grid bearing of 360° for a distance of approximately 42km to the point of commencement.
