THE TREATY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY ACT

(No. 2 of 2000)

ESTABLISHMENT

IT IS notified for the information of the public that rule 13 of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community (Election of Members of the Assembly) Rules, 2012, provides that the Returning Officer, who is the Clerk of the National Assembly, shall, by notice published in the Gazette and in at least two daily newspapers of national circulation, appoint an election day, which shall be not more than seven days and not less than three days after the nomination day. Pursuant to rule 13, I appoint Thursday, 31st May, 2012 as the election day. Dated the 28th May, 2012. P. G. GICHOHI, Clerk of the National Assembly.
