WINDING UP
PURSUANT to provisions of section 25 (3), the Competition
Authority wishes to notify the public that the County Council of Pokot and Cemtech Limited have made an application under section 21 of the Act for exemption of their ninety-nine (99) years exclusive limestone mining rights agreement entered between the parties on 25th
February, 2010.
1. In the agreement, the County Council of Pokot has:
(i) granted Cemtech Limited exclusive limestone mining rights, permission and authority to extract limestone in the areas specified in the Schedule.
(ii) procured not to give way leaves for unoccupied limestone deposit areas vested in the County Council without prior consultation with Cemtech Limited or until after exhaustive mining and rehabilitation by Cemtech Limited.
2. Interested persons are hereby called upon to submit to the
Authority, within thirty (30) days of the publication of this notice, any written representations which they wish to make in regard to this application.
3. Submissions may be hand-delivered, during office hours, to:
