NOTICE is given that application under section 18 (2) of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Kenya Emerolds Mining Company Limited, of P.O. Box 21804–Tom Mboya, Nairobi, Kenya for exclusive prospecting licence to prospect for iron ore over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of section 7 (1) (d) of the Mining Act the said area of land is therefore excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area in question or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the exclusive prospecting licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009–00100, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 110km excluding an area of extant title situated in Kitui District of Eastern Province, delineated on Kibwezi topo sheet Ref No. SA-37-10 of scale 1: 250,000 and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point ―A‖ grid reference DH 0970; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 21km to point ―B‖ grid reference DH 3070; thence on a grid bearing of 180 for a distance of approximately 5km to point ―C‖ grid reference DH 3065; thence on a grid bearing of 230 for a distance of approximately 1km to point ―D‖ grid reference DH 2964; thence on a grid bearing of 270 for a distance of approximately 17km to point ―E‖ grid reference DH 1264; thence on a grid bearing of 331 for a distance of approximately 1km to point ―F‖ grid reference DH 1164; thence on a grid bearing of 50 for a distance of approximately 1km to point ―G‖ grid reference DH 1265; thence on a grid bearing of 331 for a distance of approximately 4.6km to point ―H‖ grid reference DH 1069; thence on a grid bearing of 240 for a distance of approximately 1km to point ―I‖ grid reference DH 0969; thence on a grid bearing of 331 for a distance of approximately 1.6km to the point of commencement.
