THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 (1) of the Labour Relations Act, 2007, the Minister for Labour makes the following Order: (a) The Company, Kenya Ports Authority, to deduct every month the sum equivalent of two per cent (2%) in respect of trade union agency fees of monthly wages of employees who are covered by the terms and conditions of the concluded Collective Bargaining Agreement in force and who are members of the Dock Workers Union. This includes employees whose particulars are listed and appended hereto and to remit the same to the union. (b) To pat within ten (10) days the sum so deducted by a crossed cheque payable to Dock Workers Union Account No. 16– 1093734 at Barclays Bank, Nkrumah Road, Mombasa Branch. (c) To make returns to the Registrar of Trade Unions at P.O. Box 40326–00100, Nairobi, within ten (10) days after effecting the deductions. (d) To notify the Dock Workers Union at its Head Office, Kenyatta Avenue, P.O. Box 98207–800100, Mombasa. (e) To execute the Order to remit deductions of agency fees from the wages of employees not later than the end of next month following the month of the Order. Dated the 26th July, 2011.
