(L.N. 169 of 2009) PRE-BAR EXAMINATION Preamble The Pre-bar Examination is administered to prospective students who hold a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from a recognized university but do not qualify for direct admission to the Kenya School of Law because: (a) They had not attained minimum entry requirements for admission to a university in Kenya, and (b) They had not attained a minimum grade of B (plain) in English Language in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent. Pre-Bar Examination—September 2011: Council of Legal Education hereby invites candidates in the above category, and who wish to be considered for the January, 2012 ATP intake at the Kenya School of Law, to register for the Pre-Bar examination which shall be held on Monday, 19th September through to Wednesday, 21st September, 2011, at the Kenya School of Law, Lang‘ata South Road, Karen. The examination shall test the mastery of basic legal techniques, legal writing and substantive legal principles at the degree subject level and proficiency in English language. Mode of Application: Application forms are available from the Kenya School of Law - Academic Services office, upon payment of a non-refundable Registration and Examination fee of Kshs. 4,000.00. The forms can also be downloaded from the School‘s website: www.ksl.ac.ke Payment of fees shall be made by bankers cheque payable to The Kenya School of Law OR cash deposit only payable to The Kenya School of Law A/C No. 2022099224 , Barclays Bank of Kenya, Barclays Plaza - Corporate Services, and receipted at the Kenya School of Law - Cash office. Students must avail evidence of having paid fees on registration. personal cheques shall not be accepted. no cash shall be received by the school The application form must be returned together with: (a) A copy of the applicant‘s LL.B degree certificate; (b) Copies of academic transcripts; (c) Copy of KCSE, or KCE/GCE/KACE certificate; (d) A copy of national identity card, or a valid passport (for foreign students); (e) Two passport size colour photographs; (f) Copy of payment receipt issued by the Cash office, Kenya School of Law.
