THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 (1) of the Labour Relations Act (No. 14 of 2007), the Minister for Labour makes the following Order: (a) All employers who are members of the Timber Industries Employers Association (TIEA) herein referred to as ―Association‖ to deduct every month from the wages of each of their individual employee who is not a member of the Kenya Building, Construction, Timber, Furniture and Workers Union herein referred to as ―Union‖ but is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (RCA No. 12 of 2010) signed between the union and association a sum equal to two and a half per cent (2 1/2%) from the salary of each employee monthly gross pay (i.e. basic salary plus house allowance). (b) Deductions to commence within thirty (30) days of receiving the Order. (c) To remit within ten (10) days the sums deducted under item (a) above by crossed cheque made payable to the Union into the Union‘s account No. 1107222516 at the Kenya Commercial Bank of Kenya, Moi Avenue Branch, Nairobi.
