THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 (1) of the Labour Relations Act (No. 14 of 2007), the Minister for Labour makes the following Order: (a) The Company Mombasa Cement Limited to deduct from the wages of each unionisable employee who is not a member of the Kenya Quarry and Mine Workers Union, herein referred to as the ―Union‖ but is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the union and the company, a sum equivalent to two and half (2 /2) per cent of the employees wages and a further Kenya shillings fifty (KSh. 50) for the Central Organization of Trade Unions (K). (b) Deductions to commence within thirty (30) days of receiving the Order. (c) To remit within ten (10) days the sums deducted under item (a) above by crossed cheques made payable to the Union into the Union‘s account No. 0240290140552 at the Equity Bank, Harambee Avenue Branch and for Central Organization of Trade Unions (K) into account No. 1108987486 at Kenya Commercial Bank, Moi Avenue Branch.
