GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 2303

NOTICE is given that application under section 18 (2) of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Universal Resources International Limited, of P.O. Box 25005–00100, Nairobi, Kenya for exclusive prospecting licence to prospect for industrial minerals over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of section 7 (1) (d) of the Mining Act the said area of land is therefore excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area in question or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the exclusive prospecting licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009–00100, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 268km situated in Taita District of Coast Province, delineated on Voi topo sheet Ref. No. SA-37-14 of scale 1:250,000 and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point ―A‖ grid reference DG 6605; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 8km to point ―B‖ grid reference DG 7405; thence on a grid bearing of 180 for a distance of approximately 27km to point ―C‖ grid reference DF 7477; thence on a grid bearing of 249 for a distance of approximately 6km to point ―D‖ grid reference DF 6875; thence on a grid bearing of 330 for a distance of approximately 17km to point ―E‖ grid reference DF 6090; thence on a grid bearing of 360 for a distance of approximately 3km to point ―F‖ grid reference DF 6093; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 6km to point ―G‖ grid reference DF 6693; thence on a grid bearing of 360 for a distance of approximately 12km to the point of commencement.
