IT IS Notified for .the genets! information of the public that the Minister of Stite for Provincial, Administration and Internal Security has appointed it TaskTotie consisting of the following— Mr. Zachary Ogongo —Chairman Members: Permanent Secretary —Provincial Administration and Internal Security Permanent Secretary —Ministry of Lands (Director of Survey; and Director of Land Adjudication) Aggrey Mudinyu —Rtd. Provincial Commissioner G.T. Kangethe —Rid. Lecturer, KIA Provinpial Commissioner —Eastern Province (Secretary). Terms of Reference The terms of reference of the Task Force are:- (i)To co-ordinate and oversee the delineation and demarcation of the disputed boundaries in the greater Meru District generally and between Tharaka and Tigania Districts in particular, (ii)To sensitize the local community on the demarcation exercise and the need to embrace peace, reconciliation and the outcome of the decision of the Task Force in this regard. (iii)To receive, hear, evaluate and determine complaints and concerns from the members of the public and/or any other person on their behalf and receive written and/or oral statements therefrom. Accountability The task force shall be accountable to the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security, Modal Operandi for the Task Force A. The Task Force will;. (i) Regulate its own procedures and develop its own workplan; (II) Receive evidence, documents and relevant information that the task force may require; (ill) Seek co-operation from elders and public officers. B. Quorum The quorum of any. meeting for the purposes of conducting any business other than to appoint a temporary chairman shall be three (3) excluding the Chairman; Terms ofOffice (i) The mandate of the Task Force shall last for (3) months fros, the dite of inauguration. In exceptional circumstances, the term may be extended at the discretion of the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security; Costs The costs incurred by the Task Force including but not restricted to the payment of allowances in respect of the members and the secretariat of the Task Force shall be defrayed from the voted funds of the Ministry.
