GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 7039

NOTICE is given that an application under section 17 of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Karebe Gold Mining Limited, of P.O. Box 43165-00100, Nairobi, Kenya for a special licence to prospect for precious metals over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of the above mentioned section of the Mining Act, the said area of land is therefore re-opened to prospecting and mining and by virtue of section 7(1) (d) of the same Act, the said area of land is excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area or any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the special licence may be made in writing and addressed to the commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009-00100, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days fromothe date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 85 square kilometres situated in Nandi District of Rift Valley Province, delineated on topo sheets Kisumu Ref. No. SA-36-4 and Eldoret Ref. No NA-36-16 of scale 1:250,000 and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point "A" grid reference YQ 2395; thence on a grid bearing of 360° for a distance of approximately 10 km. to point "B" grid reference YR 2305; thence on a grid bearing of 90° for a distance of approximately 11) km. to point "C" grid reference YR 3305; thence on a grid bearing of 180° for a distance of approximately 7km to point "D" grid reference YQ 3398; thence on a grid bearing of 270° for a distance of approximately 5 km. to point "E" grid reference YQ 2998; thence on a grid bearing of 180° for a distance of approximately 3 tm. to point "F" grid reference YQ 2295; thence on a grid bearing of 270° for a distance of approximitely 5km to the point of commencement.
