The proposed project consists of construction of three (3) modern villa houses on 0.1822 hectare plot. • The project is to he located along Shanzu Road, off Lower Kabete Estate, Kyuna Estate plot L. Drainage system — Ensure that storm water drainages- are separated from the public sewerage system. Possible Inipacts Mitigation Measures —Check points should be accessible for unblocking. —Install drainage systems properly to ensure the drainage are free from any blocking materials. —Ensure effective wastage management. 2. Surface run-off — Ensure that no wasted water is directed to surface run-off drainage. —Installation of oil/grease interceptors at appropriate , . points. —Ensure that no surface drains are connected into the public sewers. 3.Solid waste management — Provide solid waste collection facilities at strategic locations and provide solid waste segregation containers. A selection yard should be slabbed and 'compartmented to provide space for every category of solid waste. Contact the municipal council for site of disposal of the construction material remains. - 4.Public and Occupational — Provide workers with health and safety appropriate protective clothing. —Provide workers with a well stocked first-aid kit. —Sensitive residents on fire risks. -- Install and maintain fire-fighting equipment and machinery. • 5. The proposed project consist of resolving persistent human wildlife conflicts in Taveta Division, minimizing damage to crops and property by wild animals and to act as a deterrent to would be poachers. he project will be located at Tsavo West National Park. he project anticipates the following impacts and mitigation measures: Possible Impacts Mitigation Measures 1.Loss of vegetation cover and — Restrict clearing only. to fence soil erosion alignment section. The proposed project consists of construction of new intake works on River Yala, new water treatment plant, rehabilitation of water treatment facilities, laying of raw and treated water pipelines, new water storage reservoirs, water kiosks, rehabilitation and drilling of new boreholes, expansion of sewer line networks, rehabilitation and expansion of sewerage stabilization ponds and on-site sanitation works. The intake of the project is transversing the districts of Kakamega, Busia and Nambale towns.
