GAMTE.NortcE No. 135 THE RATING ACT (Cap. 267) THE CITY COUNCIL OF NAIROBI NOTICE is given for public information that the City Council of Nairobi has levied,the undermentioned Rates fclr 2008. These become due on I st January, 2008, and are payable at the City Hall, Cash Office, ground floor, by 31st May 2008. (a)Any rates remaining unpaid after the date will incur interest in accordance with paragraph (d) below. The rates are a debt to the City Council and whilst every effort shall be made to deliver a demand note to every rateable owner of the property, failure to receive the same will not 'be held to absolve the debtor from any liability and to penalty for rates remaining upaind after 31st May,2008. (b)The general rates of 17 per cent of the unimproved site value of land as appearing in the 1982 Valuation Roll shall apply in all cases except for (r) below.
