GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 42

NOTICE is given that pursuant to His Excellency the President's Proclamation, the First Session of Tenth Parliament will be held on Tuesday, 15th January, 2008 in Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, at 2.30 p.m. The first business of the Session will fie to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly in accordance with sections 37 and 38 of the Constitution of Kenya as read together with sections 34 and 35 thereelind pursuant to Standing Orders 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the National Assembly, respectively. All persons who are eligible under the said constitutional provisions and who are interested in contesting for the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly are advised to collect nomination papers from the office of the Clerk of-the National Assembly in the Main Parliament Building, Parliament Road, Nairobi, during working hours. Completed nomination papers should be returned to the office of the Clerk of the Natiohal Assembly at least forty-eight (48) hours before the House assembles, i.e. not later than Friday, 11th January, 2008 ar2.30 p.m. Dated the 8th January, 2008.
