GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 5210

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 47 of the Physical and Land Use Planning Act, 2019, notice is given that the County Government of Machakos intends to commence preparation of the above plans on the 8th April, 2026. The objectives of the Plans are to: (a) analyse the Existing Land Uses in the above selected eighty- two (82) towns. (b) synthesize the constraints and opportunities in the above selected eighty-two (82) towns. (c) prepare alternative development models. (d) prepare action area plans. (e) secure land tenure. (f) Control development. (g) formulate the Local Physical and Land Use Development Plan. (h) prepare the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. The purpose of the plans are to act as a Framework for Guiding Development within the above selected eighty-two (82) towns. Extent of the area covered is Kisekini, Kyasila, Kitanga, Kaseve, Kyanda, Ngelani, Kusyomuomo,Konza Township, Kamuuwani, Kola, Kali, Ikungu, Katuaa, Kimutwa, Kyangala, Kwa Akamba, Katanga, Kivaani, Kawethei, Mbilini, Kakuyuni, Kwa Kathule, Kikambuani, Kilalani, Kikomba, Katani, Oloisheki, Ndovoini, Muthwani, Nzoiani, Kisukioni, Manyanzaani, Kantafu, Kwale, Matuu Ma Mwiitu, Kinyui, Kwa Mwaura, Katwanyaa, Kyeleni, Ol Donyo Sabuk, Ikombe, Kyasioni, Makutano, Kikesa, Kalyambeu, Kinyaata, Kilango, Kyua, Mbembani, Messi, Ndalani, Kwa Kulu, Mutwamboo, Kisiiki, Itithini, Kateki, Kimangu, Katangi, Itunduimuni, Mbusyani, Kitangani, Kikuumini, Ndithini, Ekalakala, Kithyoko,Iiyani, Muthesya, Kikule, Kayole, Mbuuni, Kauti, Nzaikoni, Kaviani, Mumbuni Wa Mundu, Kabaa,Wamunyu,Maweli,Wetaa, Kavumbu, Miu, Ikalaasa and Muthetheni towns. The information to be set out in the plans shall include–– Land Use Map, Zoning Regulations, Development Goals and Objectives, Infrastructure Plan, Environmental Considerations, Community Facilities, housing strategy, Economic Development, Public Engagement and Implementation and Monitoring Plan. Suggestions that may be included in the proposed plans may be directed to County Executive Committee Member, Lands, Housing, Urban Development, Roads and Transport within twenty-one (21) days of this publication.
