THE NATIONAL RATING ACT
(Cap. 267)
APPOINTMENT
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by Section 22 (1) of the
National Rating Act, the County Executive Committee Member
(CECM) for Lands, Housing and Urban Planning appoints—
Herbert Were—B.A. (Land Economics) Hons, M.I.S.K (VS), and
Registered Valuer, Jane C. Kairanya—B.A. (Land Economics) Hons, M.I.S.K (VS), and Registered Valuer, as Valuers for County Government of Bomet to undertake the valuation of rateable properties and to prepare a Valuation Roll with effect from the 31st December, 2024.
The year of the Valuation Roll is 2025.
Forms of Rating
The CECM Lands recommends the following Forms of Rating within Bomet County.
(a) Unimproved site value (U.S.V) to be adopted in the on the following areas;
(i) Municipalities within Bomet County Government
(ii) Designated urban Centres and developed areas surrounding these urban Centres.
(b) Area rating form which is to be adopted in the following areas;
(i) Urban Centres that are not included in the valuation roll
(ii) Rural agricultural land that are not included in the valuation roll
(iii) Gazetted forests
Declaration not to include improvements.
The County Executive Committee Member, Lands declares that when the valuer is preparing Draft Valuation Roll, the valuer need not include the value of improvements.
