THE POLITICAL PARTIES ACT
(Cap. 7D)
REGISTRATION
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 21 (5) of the
Political Parties Act, and Regulation 16 (3) of the Political Parties
(Registration) Regulations, 2019, the Registrar of Political Parties gives notice that Vibrant Democratic Party (VDP) was deregistered on
12th January, 2026.
On the grounds that Vibrant Democratic Party (VDP)—
(a) Has contravened section 21 (1) (i) of the Political Parties Act, by failing to maintain statutory party membership in line with section 7 (2) (a) of the Act;
(b) Has contravened section 21 (1) (a) of the Act in terms of
Article 91 (1) (g) of the Constitution by failing to submit financial statements for Financial Year 2024/2025; and publish financial statements for Financial Years 2021/2022 and
2022/2023 on the party website and 2023/24 and 2024/2025 on newspaper and party website;
(c) Has contravened section 21 (1) (i) of the Act by failing to maintain county offices in at least twenty-four (24) counties in line with section 7 (2) (f) (iii) of the Act; and
(d) Has contravened section 21 (1) (i) of the Act in terms of
Article 91 (1) (g) by failing to maintain statutory records at the party head office.
