GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 1194

IT IS notified for the information of the general public that pursuant to Article 184 of the Constitution of Kenya, section 48 (1) (a) of the County Governments Act, section 9 (1) and 20 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act and section 6 of the Kabarnet Municipal Charter, the Governor, Baringo County transfers the underlisted functions to the Municipality of Kabarnet: (a) Promotion, regulation, and provision of refuse collection and solid waste management services. (b) Promotion, regulation, and provision of sanitation service. (c) Design, construction and maintenance of urban roads and associated infrastructure. (d) Construction and maintenance of storm water drains and flood control infrastructure within the municipality. (e) Construction and maintenance of walkways and other non- motorized transport infrastructure. (f) Design, construction and maintenance of street lighting and floodlights. (g) Construction and maintenance of recreational parks and green spaces. (h) Promotion, regulation, and provision of fire-fighting services. (i) Development and enforcement of municipal plans and development control (j) Regulation of out-door advertising. (k) Promotion, regulation, and provision of animal control and welfare. (l) Promotion, regulation, and provision of municipal sports and cultural activities. (m) Construction and maintenance of municipal markets and abattoirs.
