GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 110

PURSUANT to the provisions of Standing Order No. 29 (3) of the National Assembly Standing Orders, it is notified for the information of the Members of the National Assembly and the general public that special sittings of the Assembly shall be held on Thursday, 16th January, 2025, morning and afternoon, commencing at 10.00 a.m. and at 2.30 p.m., respectively, in the National Assembly Chamber, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, for purposes of— (a) Tabling of Report and notice of motion on the mediated version of the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill (Senate Bill No. 19 of 2024) – subject to conclusion of the mediation process; (b) Tabling of Report and notice of special motion on the Report of the Committee on Appointments on its consideration of nominees for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries; (c) Tabling of Report and notice of special motion on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations on its consideration of nominees for appointment as High Commissioners, Ambassadors, Permanent Representative and Consul-General; (d) Tabling of Report and notice of special motion on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Labour on its consideration of nominees for appointment as Vice-Chairperson and members of the Public Service Commission; (e) Tabling of any urgent Papers with statutory timelines; (f) Conveyance of any urgent Messages from the National Executive and/or the Senate; (g) Transaction of the following business— (i) Consideration of any priority Bill; (ii) Consideration of the mediated version of the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill (Senate Bill No. 19 of 2024) – subject to conclusion of the mediation process; (iii) Debate on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Labour on its consideration of nominees for appointment as Chairperson and members of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC); (iv) Debate on the Report of the Committee on Appointments on its consideration of nominees for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries; (v) Debate on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations on its consideration of nominees for appointment as High Commissioners, Ambassadors, Permanent Representative and Consul-General; (vi) Debate on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Labour on its consideration of nominees for appointment as Vice-Chairperson and members of the Public Service Commission; (vii) Consideration in Committee of the whole House of the following: (a) The Startup Bill (Senate Bill No. 14 of 2022); and (b) The Persons with Disabilities Bill (Senate Bill No. 7 of 2023); (h) Consideration of any other priority business certified as urgent by the Speaker. The Order Papers for the said Special Sittings will be available at the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly, and on the Parliamentary Website at (http://www.parliament.go.ke/the-national- assembly/house-business/order-paper).
