THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND CO-ORDINATION ACT
(No. 8 of 1999)
REGULATION
PURSUANT to Regulation 21 of the Environmental Management
and Co-ordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003,
the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has
received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the
above proposed project.
The proponent, Realty Brokers Limited, proposes to develop a
modern residential complex of 1124 units in 8 Blocks of 1, 2 and 3
Bedroom houses, a parking silo with 2179 parking units, associated
facilities and amenities on Plot L.R. 209/10211 within South C Area,
Nairobi County.
The following are the anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation
measures:

Soil erosion • Excavated soil is to be used for backfilling
excavated areas while excess soil is
disposed of off-site.
• Soils are not to be left exposed to
wind/water.
• Excavation activities to be done during the
dry season to avoid soil erosion and
siltation of streams.
• Construction of effective drainages and
culverts.
• Plant soil binding grasses and other native
plants.
Air pollution
• Control speed of vehicles and Prohibit
idling.
• Spray water during construction.
• Maintenance vehicles and equipment
regularly.
• Provision of dust masks for use in dusty
conditions.
• Use serviceable vehicles/machinery to
reduce smoke.
• Water is to be sprayed on building
undergoing demolition during
decommissioning o reduce dust emission.
Excess noise and • Use noise hearing protection devices when

working with noisy equipment or noisy
environment.
• Use serviceable equipment with low noise

• Instruct truck/machinery operators to

Possible Impacts Mitigation Measures

The National Environment Management Authority invites
members of the public to submit oral or written comments within
thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice to the
Director-General, NEMA, to assist the Authority in the decision
making process regarding this project.
