THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND CO-ORDINATION ACT
(No. 8 of 1999)
REGULATION
PURSUANT to regulation 21 of the Environmental Management
and Co-ordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003,
the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has
received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the
above proposed project.
The proponent, Great Lakes Medical Centre, proposes to construct
a three-storey building comprising: (1) Ground Floor which will have
an emergency room, consultation room, laboratory, outpatient
pharmacy, kitchen, procedure room, nursing area, payment and records
office and a waiting area. (2) First Floor which will have a delivery
room, husbands bay, maternity ward, doctors room, scrubbing area and
a theatre. (3) Second Floor which will have a paediatric ward, nurse
station, female general ward and a male general ward. (3) Third Floor
which will have a renal unit, board room ICU, administration office,
ICU nurse duty room and X-Ray room, a septic tank, incinerator and
other associated amenities.
The following are the anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation

The National Environment Management Authority invites members
of the public to submit oral or written comments within thirty (30) days
from the date of publication of this notice to the Director-General,
NEMA, to assist the Authority in the decision making process
regarding this plan.
